Membership Information
Northwest Artist Guild is dedicated to the requirements of artists. We formed to support each other in making art, inspire and enable each other to develop additional skills through educational opportunities in our chosen mediums as well as learn about and actively participate hands-on in gallery duties and relationships.
Membership Benefits:
If you are 18 years or older, an established or emerging artist who does original, one of a kind work, we invite you to join our fun, creative group. We hang our art at the Picture Attic, Long Beach, Wa.
A NW Guild website which includes the names and a display of artwork from each member artist as well as a link to their own websites. We provide publicity and news releases for our events for the gallery in regional papers and also via an email listing of interested clients, and by posters. If you are interested in applying for membership, which is $60 per year, call Jean Nitzel at 360-642-2295 at the Picture Attic, 711 Pacific Ave.N, Long Beach. Wa
Terms of Membership:
· New artists are invited to show examples of their art at a meeting of existing members.
· Fees at this time are $60 for each calendar year. Currently we a 10 per cent commission on art works sold from our show venues.
· If you are interested in joining as a new member you can receive an application and packet of information that will include the NW Artist Guild Charter and explain our programs and procedures.
· Members are encouraged to participate in Guild events and meetings when possible. If you will be hanging work during the show your attendance at the art opening is expected , so that you can meet with gallery attendees and respond to questions about your work and participate in making the opening successful.
· We currently have no requirement to sit the shows during the month, however, this could change by a vote of the membership if it is determined that it would be in the best interest of the guild and its members.
· You must sign our Liability Agreement in order to exhibit your work in the Gallery.
· All members are expected to join in working at one or more tasks on our committees to help the guild conduct its business in an effective way.
The schedule for our next guild meeting will be emailed or telephoned to you. Our meetings are held at the Picture Attic, 711 Pacific Way N., Long Beach, Wa., usually on the first Monday of each month, at 10:30 am.
Please send your completed Membership Questionnaire to Jean Nitzel or is available to answer your questions about the Guild at 360-642-2295. To prepare for our membership interview you will be asked to bring 3-5 pieces of artwork which are representative of the artwork you will be showing with the Guild in the manner in which they will be presented (framed under glass or not, contemporary hanging, placed on small easel or pedestal ).

Northwest Artist Guild
Membership Interview Process Potential new NW Artist Guild members are asked to bring 3 to 5 pieces of show-ready (framed etc.) art to a monthly meeting of the Guild and tell current members about their interests, inspirations, background and medium/media. The Guild anticipates that each member will embrace our goals, expectations for success, committee work, and interests in art education. To that end we ask you to call Jean Nitzel at 360-642-2295 to obtain the next guild meeting date, time and place. Liability Agreement
This Art Exhibits release of Liability form is effective from 1-1-2016 until 12-31-2016 and is required to be signed in order for the artist to exhibit their work with the Northwest Artist Guild at any Northwest Artist Guild Event or Function.
The artist grants permission for the Northwest Artist Guild to reproduce artist’s name, information describing artists work, representations of artists work and any other information artist has provided for the purpose of display, promotion and publicity either now or in the future.
The artist is required to sell, display, pack, transport his/her own work and if artist is not available on site to sell, display re-pack or re-transport his/her work the artist gives permission to the exhibit organizers or any Northwest Artist Guild member to do so on artists behalf at artists own risk and expense. Artist understands that the Northwest Artist Guild officers, directors, members, and volunteer staff, assume no responsibility for the credit of the purchaser, and assume no responsibility to Artist in the event a sale is made of the Artists work without the Artist present or the sale is canceled by the purchaser or an error in sales has been made.
The Northwest Artist Guild shall not be liable for any injury to Artist, or for any physical damage, theft or loss of Artist’s work, equipment or other personal property arising out of the Art Exhibitions, the mounting and or any other activities involved in the preparation and/or presentation of the Art Exhibitions. The Artist agrees to assume all risk of damage to or loss of his/her own art from whatever cause. Artist further agrees to release and to hold harmless the entities listed in this document as well as both entities’ officers, directors, employees, members, volunteers and agents from any and all liabilities and damages to art work and persons as a result of any part of Artist’s participation in Exhibits.
Artist shall indemnify, save and hold harmless the Northwest Artist Guild, the Picture Attic gallery, its officers, directors, employees, members, volunteers and agents and the other participating exhibition venues from any and all claims, demands, causes of action and judgments, losses, costs and expenses, including but not limited to reasonable attorney’s fees, arising due to the negligence of Artist, their employees, agents or other personnel included here including but not limited to any representation, warranty, term and/or condition of this Agreement.
Artist shall be solely and exclusively responsible to insure properly and adequately their work and property.
I, the undersigned artist, declare that I have read this Liability Agreement and accept the above conditions for display of my artwork in the Northwest Artist Guild Gallery and/ or at any Northwest Artist Guild exhibition wherever it may be.
